Specific Goals of the Coalition

Business Expansion/Retention:
Development of programs that nurture growth and investment in existing and emerging businesses will be the core focus of our economic development activities, as national statistics show that 80% to 85% of new jobs are created by growing existing businesses in addition to nurturing start-up and emerging businesses.

Business Recruitment:
Develop programs and conditions that will successfully attract new targeted businesses. Target businesses that will diversify the economy as well as complement existing businesses

Foster Entrepreneurism:
Every product or service starts with a few people who have the genius and enthusiasm for great ideas, but who sometimes need the assistance of others to bring the idea to reality. We will provide support mechanisms through access to capital, networking, mentoring and educational opportunities.

Marketing/Image:
Market Ellis County in a way to promote its assets and be proactive about perceptions. A positive image will increase economic activity and attract investment in the community.
